ABOUT OUR ESCAPE

Kersey Valley Escape Rooms

Welcome to our crazy family of businesses, I’m Tony Wohlgemuth the founder of Kersey Valley, Inc.  We are known for creating haunted houses since 1985 and year round events.  Zipline, outdoor laser tag, corn mazes,  education field trips and Escape Games.  The team at Kersey Valley knows how to escape reality by creating highly detailed environments. Kersey Valley Spookywoods is always on the cutting edge of haunted house design, technology and theming after 31 years of producing incredible sets and characters. Now you get an opportunity to spend time inside our world with your friends trying to solve puzzles and codes to escape the room.

The team behind the magic

Donna and I,  are the owners of Kersey Valley and have made “The Fun Stuff” our life’s mission.  Established in 1985, I was just 15 years old and 5 of my friends and I created the first haunted attraction.  Just 3 years later Donna jumped on board and the company’s growth was incredible.  That’s what started Kersey Valley now over 31 years ago.  Fast forward and the team at Kersey Valley is a second home to over 300 employees.  When I stumbled across Escape games on YouTube out of Asia I knew this was in our wheel house with 31 years of experience in creating unique environments at Spookywoods haunted attraction.  It’s a natural fit for Kersey Valley to offer NC’s most themed Escape games.   Everything to make this new interactive gaming experience over the top is already here.  We have been catering to thousands of people a day for years with our fall events. We know attractions and how to make them amazing from customer service to all the small details.   We are not a fly by night, hang a open sign type of operation and hope for the best.  Some of the key people behind the magic are our amazing set designers in the art department that is lead by a passionate artist, Joh Harp.  Joh designs the sets that are amazingly detailed to the point you think you just walked into that world.    Matt Patterson and Chris Nagel work year round and create the environments and monsters that keep you up at night at Spookywoods haunted attraction. The build crew with decades of experience can build anything we dream up and are just as excited to make our visions come to life.  Tom Rover, head of the building department at Guilford Technical College, heads up our construction projects. Tom Benedict, Tony Forrest, Mike Fowler, Bryan Lones, and Darrel Justice make up our build crew.  All have been on our team for many years and take great pride in bringing our crazy ideas to life. To take Kersey Valley Escape to another level, David Rundberg, has been with Kersey Valley since the mid 90’s and responsible for our IT systems.  He master minded the puzzles for our Escape Games.  He also created the mathematics formula for the Kersey Valley zip line tour to be a  gravity brake.  He has designed and wrote the software systems that run our Escape games with interactive technology.  Needless to say, but he is a true genius. Tom Benedict handles all the electronic controllers and pneumatic props that make things go bump in the night. Steve Lee tackles audio and lighting effects for over 22 years now.  At Kersey Valley you are in the game like no where else produced by people that have a passion for it and it shows. Make plans now to take part of something incredible with your friends and family. Prepare for one of the most exciting team building experiences you have ever done!
